Our Legacy:

Speaking Out LOWD

One of the aims is to provide a community venue to support members of the African Caribbean Community in Bedford.

The services delivered will provide a combination of practical help and where appropriate, advice, advocacy to meet the cultural and heritage needs.

The content and means of delivery will be driven by the needs of the community members.

The Speaking Out LOWD was set up to ensure that the recognition of the Windrush Generation was cemented in Bedford so that the  Caribbean Community is seen as part of the history of the town and country and our contribution is recognised and rooted for future generations.

The overall aim of Speaking Out LOWD is to capture the memories of the Windrush Generation and their descendants across Bedford to develop and coordinate practical activities involving the African and Caribbean Community of Bedford for a permanent legacy. Our Windrush communities.
